And check out some ideas below, along with some other fun stories today… Is it just me, or are there a ton of good books (or sure-to-be good books) being released this year?

Fiction is My Calling.

readCompletely unrelated to the stories below, I just discovered that I’ve been reading my fan-fiction review statistics–on stories I wrote years ago, no less, and are literally buried on the web and, to me, quite impossible to find–wrongly.

I’m not getting a few hundred readers a month on those stories… I’m getting closer to a thousand a month! I am absolutely flabbergasted–and grateful.

So I just wanted to say thanks for all those reads–wow–and to recommit to going back to fiction as soon as I’m able. I’d love to do a few more fan-fiction stories I’ve had on the back burner forever for those of you who send me so many awesome reviews (or who just read–I can see you clicking now!). I am so thankful for your readership and appreciate every single review!

It might sound funny, but think about all the things we learn from The Daily Show or The Colbert Report. South Park may not be as a reliable news source as Jon Stewart, but it does tend to cover the issues–and introduce us to some words we’ve never even heard of.

canaryYou may have heard of cockfighting–thankfully a banned “blood sport” where most of us live–but what about canary fighting? I actually thought this news story was a humor piece–maybe from The Onion or something–until I found it in over a dozen sources.
