OK, I will admit that I feel a little bad about liking this song (and especially the video, so I’m not linking to it!). It’s just so dang catchy! Is it country? Is it pop? And Elle King’s voice. MAN. I just love it. It’s so swingy, with a gritty Adele quality. Anyway, it’s “my song” this week so I’m sharing it with you.
Wow, it feels like my blogs are gathering cobwebs! I’ve been struggling to finish a book I’m working on, with another due in less than two months. Plus, with fall upon us, we have homeschooling activities every. Single. Day. (Yes, that’s my fault!) And after that, homeschooling when we get home, work and chores, I haven’t even had time to read the new Tiffany Aching book I’m dying to get into! I’ve tried staying up all night to write into the first rays of the day like I used to, but I’m just not built for it anymore. My body yells, “NOPE!” and just collapses. That’s probably a good thing, when you think about it.
That doesn’t mean that there’s a shortage of things to be grateful about. On the contrary, I have about a billion things I love today. Here are just a few of them.
A FABULOUS 3-day weekend with just the three of us. It’s been so long since we’ve had one. We went swimming, to the Halloween store (naturally), to a family game night, the Science Center, had balloon races, baked a cake for no reason… Even though I had a major toothache (that wasn’t there before the filling…) we still managed to have an amazing weekend.
Awesome eats! I’ve been eating the peach butter my friend C made me every day and it’s SO incredibly good. My friend E brought her kiddos over to play Friday and left Papa Murphy’s with us. It was our first time trying it and boy, was it good. We also ate at El Maguey and not only was it SO good, it also had maguey in the name, and you know I can’t pass up magueys.
I’m doing 30 Days of Lists in my journal alongside Dianne Sylvan (I just love her) and it’s been really fun, although mine aren’t nearly as vibrant as hers.
My PLANNER PAD is here! And it’s all nekkid, just waiting for me to fill it in. BREATHE.
Forsta Treats. Holy cow. My friend K is the owner and chef, and boy do our dogs LOVE her treats. They are really good for KONG toys, especially for dogs who have energy to spare.
One of our bunnies has a flop ear! OH it’s cute. SO cute. Their parents are mini flops but neither really “flopped” so I guess the gene can skip!
Indy pulling Wood Sprite through the store on her flip flops like a sled. (At the store in the middle of the night, in search of a cake pop kit we never found, by the way.) I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.
New Halloween magnets and Halloween washi tape! It’s all at the dollar store, folks. Better get it before I get ALL the Halloween THINGS!
