NaPoMo Ends

Ahh, I didn’t make the 30 poems in 30 days! But I did write 18, which isn’t bad.  I won a few more trophies, too:

Silver for “Red
Honorable Mention for “An Autumn Parting

Also wrote these new ones–all very quickly, trying to meet that deadline!

Interruption
Cramming
Summer Loving
Take a Little Piece of My Flannel Heart
Lucy
Cradling Africa
On Display

Did anyone else participate in National Poetry Month? I’d love to read what you’ve written. Feel free to share them or links to your work(s) in the comment section.

I also have a new article up at Valley Scene Magazine. Check it out!

Also, has anyone seen the film While She Was Out yet? I remember really enjoying the short story in college and am wondering if the film is any good. Might have to check it out!

Happy May!

Shiny Objects

I just love winning trophies at AllPoetry. It’s just for fun, and you enter more to be read than to win (at least I do) but winning sure makes me grin. This weekend I won:

Second Place, “fresh beginnings
Honorable Mention (pretty green trophy), “Spring Cleaning

Also wrote a new one for a contest including Harry Potter prompts:

“Tribute to Hagrid

Need to really catch up for NaPoMo; it’s almost over. Tonight I’ve got some time alloted for creative work; maybe I can play catch-up then.

One of today’s prompts from the Awe-Manac is to compose (or create) something with the title Breakheart Pass in honor of Alistair MacLean’s birthday.  Maybe that will inspire you (or me!) to create something. Badonsky says that he wrote every one of his novels in 35 days; now that is inspiring–if not a little depressing for some of us at the same time…

NaPoMo Continues…

I have been so sick for nearly a week now; the only good thing my sleepless nights seem to yield is journaling. Here are a few new poems I’ve written while under the weather (also added to my Poetry page)…

An Autumn Parting
The Hunting Party
The Right to Remain Silent (for the National Day of Silence)
Spring Cleaning
The Tides of Grey Beach
What was Lost

Sending you healthful wishes!

Happy NaPoMo

It’s National Poetry Month, and I encourage everyone to join the challenge at AllPoetry.com. If you write 30 poems before April is over, you get a free Silver Membership for a month!

I’ve contributed four so far. I will also be adding them to my Poetry page.

The Perfervid Patriarch

Another fun challenge this month is going on over at LiveJournal.  Karine’s April Drawing Challenge provides a daily drawing prompt–or you can create your own. I’ve been doing all of the prompts, but have not posted since they are in my journal. Still, great fodder for some creative thinking. Check it out!

Poems Added

All of my online poetry can be found on this page. There’s a wide range of material, from personal to fantasy, political to spiritual, contest entries, and even homages to some of my favorite media–such as Full Metal Jacket, Mystic River, The Silence of the Lambs, CSI, The Illusionist, and Harry Potter. I hope you enjoy them.

Also, the site that I’ve been working on for the past couple of months is now live and I encourage you to check it out. OnePinky.com is a very loving, supportive community that will hold you during your journey of self-love, acceptance and care. Check it out!

Coming Soon: All of my YouthNoise pieces will be listed together (something I’ve always wanted/needed to do!) in the articles section.

Have a fantastic day,
~Sara

Fanfiction Stories Added

I haven’t written fanfiction in over a year so it was fun to go back over these stories. These are hosted at FanFiction.net, and since the site has evolved muchly since I first started posting there, you may notice a lot of formatting glitches. Someday I will go back into the actual site and change them.

Most of these are about CSI: Crime Scene Investigation characters Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle, or Harry Potter characters Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. So, yes, there is romance afoot in these pages… but there is also lots of humor, as well as some drama, adventure, and a bit of “angst.” I hope you enjoy them!

You may also find many of these stories hosted at various fan pages, groups, archives, etc.  I don’t mind if you archive them, but please send me a link.

A few hundred more pieces to add–mostly articles, but also poetry, and maybe a few original stories and such. Thank you so much for your patience!

~Sara
