Challenge 26
By the way, April is the month of National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo), Script Frenzy, and Karine’s April Art Challenge, all things that I really want to take part in… Not so sure it’s doable, but I’m going to give it a try!
I’ve also been keeping up with the monthly Creative Experiments at Daisy Yellow. Her ideas are just amazing! I highly recommend taking part, even if you only do a couple of challenges, because they will make your day richer and give your brain the novelty it craves.
NaPoMo Ends
Ahh, I didn’t make the 30 poems in 30 days! But I did write 18, which isn’t bad. I won a few more trophies, too:
Silver for “Red”
Honorable Mention for “An Autumn Parting”
Also wrote these new ones–all very quickly, trying to meet that deadline!
“Interruption”
“Cramming”
“Summer Loving”
“Take a Little Piece of My Flannel Heart”
“Lucy”
“Cradling Africa”
“On Display”
Did anyone else participate in National Poetry Month? I’d love to read what you’ve written. Feel free to share them or links to your work(s) in the comment section.
I also have a new article up at Valley Scene Magazine. Check it out!
Also, has anyone seen the film While She Was Out yet? I remember really enjoying the short story in college and am wondering if the film is any good. Might have to check it out!
Happy May!

I just love winning trophies at AllPoetry. It’s just for fun, and you enter more to be read than to win (at least I do) but winning sure makes me grin. This weekend I won:
Second Place, “fresh beginnings”
Honorable Mention (pretty green trophy), “Spring Cleaning”
Also wrote a new one for a contest including Harry Potter prompts:
Need to really catch up for NaPoMo; it’s almost over. Tonight I’ve got some time alloted for creative work; maybe I can play catch-up then.
One of today’s prompts from the Awe-Manac is to compose (or create) something with the title Breakheart Pass in honor of Alistair MacLean’s birthday. Maybe that will inspire you (or me!) to create something. Badonsky says that he wrote every one of his novels in 35 days; now that is inspiring–if not a little depressing for some of us at the same time…
Happy NaPoMo
It’s National Poetry Month, and I encourage everyone to join the challenge at AllPoetry.com. If you write 30 poems before April is over, you get a free Silver Membership for a month!
I’ve contributed four so far. I will also be adding them to my Poetry page.

Another fun challenge this month is going on over at LiveJournal. Karine’s April Drawing Challenge provides a daily drawing prompt–or you can create your own. I’ve been doing all of the prompts, but have not posted since they are in my journal. Still, great fodder for some creative thinking. Check it out!
