remembering loved ones lost and born this month. They’re all missed deeply. I can’t help but wonder how much my GM would like almond butter as I eat it and recall her nightly peanut butter routine in the very room that I sleep in now.
dumping photos from the fall and winter into our Yearbook account and adding way too many photo spreads
laughing with friends during another great game night, even if we had to leave a little early so Indy could get to bed and work the next day. He’s doing seven in a row right now so we miss each other quite a bit.
mulling over Wood Sprite’s new 4-H project. We attended a weekend workshop where she learned about teaching children healthy habits and it will be her first “job,” complete with a W-9 form from the university. I’m in total denial that she’s old enough for this already.
working on a ton of classes for the semester, including monthly teen nights, Microsoft classes, farmsteading classes, a series of Planned Parenthood workshops, art museum tours and classes, a talent show, an art fair, some science labs at a college and three classes Wood Sprite’s teaching for said 4-H project!
whisking Wood Sprite back to the orthodontist again! Maybe I should bring a sleeping bag and store it there.
enjoying a really nice family visit for my dad’s birthday. I really wanted a brownie but I can have almond butter instead! Yay? Haha…
getting through a Medieval unit that we were excited about but now feel a bit underwhelmed about regarding some boring books included in the spine list…
answering a million and one questions, troubleshooting tech and totally considering a tech fast soon
writing writing writing, as usual
doing a pile of laundry taller than I am
working on class logistics. Transportation is always a chess game for me but I do my best when Wood Sprite is super interested in something! If it’s a day we usually don’t have the car, I tend to try and keep us home so we can both get work done here, but she’s going to do the weekly full-day class series that she tried before again this semester.
walking two miles a day again. Hopefully I’ll be back up to three soon!
enjoying a new ACV drink: ginger tea with ACV, cream of tartar (potassium) and a pinch of Himalayan salt and sweetener (AKA salger, if you love Leslie Knope)
tweaking my super coffee recipe because I can’t seem to make it stay mixed. I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and blend it. I just hate dirtying and cleaning the blender! My concoction is Laughing Man coffee with 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 Tbsp cacao, a pinch of black pepper, a pinch of cayenne pepper, 1 Tbsp grass-fed butter and 1 Tbsp of coconut oil! This keeps me full for two meals while I’m fasting, then I usually eat around 3:00 with Wood Sprite for a late lunch. She and Indy eat dinner together while I fast (currently 6 PM to 10 AM the next day, though I’ll be extending it again soon) and just chat with them.
loving being home in my new pajamas
reading White Fragility, Igraine the Brave, The Gifts of Imperfection, Monstress comics, Moon Mother Moon Daughter, The Bloody History of America and The Nature Fix… along with around 30 books or so Wood Sprite and I are reading a few pages/chapters at a time in our studies.
Watching Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Beetlejuice, and Broadchurch
What are you up to this week?
